Discover the common types of moving boxes and their uses

Small boxes (18″ x 13″ x 13″) are perfect for packing heavier items like books, CDs, dishes, small appliances, and lamps. Its compact size makes it easy to lift and carry, and it fits nicely in car back seats.

Short boxes (10″ x 18″ x 18″) are ideal for packing breakables like china, glassware, or electronics. Its flat and shallow shape allows you to pack fragile items widthwise, avoiding stacking. Avoid overfilling to prevent dropped boxes and broken items.

Large boxes (20″ x 18″ x 18″) are general-purpose boxes ideal for larger, chunkier items like lamps, linens, pillows, toys, and larger kitchen appliances.

Long boxes (36″ x 18″ x 10″) are great for packing blankets, linens, and clothing items. The laydown shape of these boxes allows you to pack contents flat with minimal folding and rolling, protecting them from excessive creasing. Be careful not to overpack as they can’t withstand heavy items.

Tall boxes (18″ x 18″ x 30″) are ideal for packing oversized, odd-shaped items that are light to medium weight.

Wardrobe boxes (20″ x 18″ x 48″) come with a hanging rail and are ideal for hanging closet items. They’re also strong enough for delicate items like chandeliers and wind chimes. Just keep in mind that these boxes can become heavy and take up a lot of space.

Computer boxes (22″ x 22″ x 22″) are weather and moisture-resistant, made of double-walled high-strength cardboard. Use them to securely pack your computer, monitor, keyboard, and associated equipment.

Archive boxes (15.5″ x 12″ x 10″) are used for document storage when moving or storing files and paperwork.

Picture/mirror boxes (49″ x 3.5″ x 37″) are for handling framed pictures, artwork, and mirrors. Their double-walled carton protects your items during transit.
